Senior Citizen Discount Garbage Program
A special Senior Citizen Option is available in Montgomery designed for residents 65 years and older who dispose of small amounts of trash each week. Under this program, residents aged 65 or older may "opt out" of the regular garbage pickup.

Montgomery Police launch free NIXLE messaging system.
The Montgomery Police Department has launched an electronic messaging system that allows direct communication with interested persons who sign up to receive important community messages via e-mail, SMS, or text to their mobile device.

The Sugar Grove Library has access licensed for cardholders to “Before You Know It” or Byki, a rapid learning system employing spaced interval repetition. The Byki learning method takes users through a series of simple steps to memorize words and phrases in a new language, including their meanings and proper pronunciation, in the shortest possible time.
Available for learning over 70 languages, library patrons are able to access the Byki Online system from inside or outside of the library, via the web browser on Windows and Mac computers. Your initial use must be at the library.

Some reports suggest that Ice Melt products and other forms of ice melting salt including sodium chloride and magnesium chloride can make dogs and cats ill, ranging from nausea to much more serious problems. It gets in their paws when walking, then they begin to lick their paws when they're back home in the warmth. It can and will make them sick. Sodium chloride and magnesium chloride were also mentioned. Apparently cats can be affected as well.
